The invention relates to a device for indicating the amount of gas contained in a butane bottle or the like. According to the invention, the device is composed of two elements, the first element in the shape of a dihedron being composed of a support base 1 and of a plate 2 with a vertical middle slot 3, the two flanks 5 of the end of the said base 1 form a fork with a pin 6 for supporting the spiral 7 of the second element which consists of a spring with two branches 8, 9, the second branch 9 of which includes an inflection 11 serving as a support for the lower edge of a gas bottle, and moves inside the slot 3, having an indicator element 13 interacting with a scale 4.
