PURPOSE: A dehumidification system and method for controlling operation of dehumidification system is provided to save renewal costs by reducing the amount of drying air required for refreshing humidification/renewal containers. CONSTITUTION: A dehumidification system comprises a first fluid guide valve(14) for guiding fluid to one of first and second humidification/renewal containers(8,10); exhaust valves(40,42) for opening/shutting off a second outlet port(36) so as to discharge fluid from the container executing a renewal operation; an inlet temperature sensor(12) for sensing the temperature of an inlet pipe(2; an exhaustion temperature sensor(38) for sensing the temperature of the fluid being discharged from the second outlet port; a heating unit(28) for heating the dehumidified fluid received from the container executing a dehumidification operation and supplying hot fluid to the container executing the renewal operation; and a control unit for controlling operation of the first fluid guide valve, exhaust valves and the heating unit in accordance with the temperatures output from the inlet temperature sensor and the exhaustion temperature sensor.
