PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of satisfactory image forming both in resolution and gradation. SOLUTION: The image forming device referring to image data of plural adjacent dots and halftone processing each pixel of it switches halftone processing according to the feature of distribution and refers to the distribution of data of each dot within the pixel to switch halftone processing based on the feature. Namely, image data of plural adjacent dots is set to be one block and the distribution of data of the dot within the block is referred to so as to discriminate its feature. Thereby, it becomes possible to judge which of resolution and gradation is given priority concerning the block and it becomes possible to anytime select halftone processing capable of drawing out the feature. Consequently, image formation satisfactory both in resolution and gradation is realized at the whole image.
