PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detent of a switch device which can be miniaturized through the omission of spring storage space, since the number of component parts of a detent member abutting against a detent surface part can be reduced so that the need for a spring for pressing the detent member against the detent surface part is eliminated. SOLUTION: This detent 16 is provided across the opposite surfaces of a stator 6 and a holder 7. A detent surface part 12, wherein respective plural projecting parts 10 and recessed parts 11 extend circumferentially about the axis of a lever main body 2 and continue alternately, is formed on the stator 6. Bored parts 13 are formed inside the detent surface part 12 to correspond to the projecting parts 10. The bored parts 13 impact elastic forces to the projecting parts 10. Projecting parts 14 are provided on the end face of the holder 7 opposite the stator 6, in such a way that they project toward the stator 6 and abut against the detent surface part 12.
