摘要 PURPOSE: An apparatus for detecting expected power consumption of an ASIC(Application Specific Integrated Circuit) is provided to easily analyze the power consumption regarding diverse operation modes, by displaying average power consumption or peak value of the ASIC on a monitor, or by storing them as a data file format. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for detecting expected power consumption of an ASIC(Application Specific Integrated Circuit) comprises a first power supply unit(102), a second power supply unit(103), a current mirror(104), an ADC(Analog-to-Digital Converter)(105), a control unit(106) and a display unit(107). The first power supply unit supplies power to a target system board. The second power supply unit supplies power to a programmable logic device in the target system board. The current mirror outputs an analog current level signal as an instantaneous variation of the current supplied to the programmable logic device through the second power supply unit. The ADC converts the analog current level signal output from the current mirror to a digital current level signal. The control unit receives the output of the ADC and target board, analyzes the quantity of the power consumption and outputs a control signal to display the analysis result on a monitor.
