PURPOSE: A monitoring apparatus using a satellite receiver is provided to display situation of monitored area on a screen after transmitting wireless video signals from a wireless camera to the satellite receiver. CONSTITUTION: The monitoring apparatus using a satellite transmitter comprises a wireless camera for transmitting a video signal of an image by wireless, a satellite transmitter(20) for receiving and treating the wireless video signal from the wireless camera, and a TV(30) for outputting the video signal from the satellite transmitter on a screen. In the apparatus, the wireless camera comprises a camera portion(12) for taking an image and a wireless transmitting portion(14) for converting the video signal into a high frequency signal and then transmitting the high frequency signal. The camera portion comprises an imaging portion for taking an image of an object, and a video signal treating portion for treating a video signal from the imaging portion. The wireless transmitting portion comprises a frequency converting portion for converting a frequency of the video signal into the high frequency, and a high frequency transmission amplifying portion for amplifying an output signal of the frequency converting portion.
