The invention discloses a novel polypeptide, human 5-phosphatase 18, the polynucleotide encoding such polypeptide and the method of production thereof by DNA recombinant techniques. Methods of using the polypeptide for treating various diseases such as Lowe's oculocerebrorenal syndrome, malignant tumors, hemopathy, developmental disorder, HIV infection, immune disorder, and various inflammation and the like are also disclosed. Furthermore, the invention discloses the antagonists of the polypeptide and the effects thereof. The use of the polynucleotide encoding the novel human 5-phosphatase 18 is also disclosed. |
