The invention relates to a folding wheelchair, in which two substantially mirror-symmetrical frame sections, including the driving and pivoting wheels mounted thereon are interconnected in such a way, that they can be converted from an operating position into a space-saving folding position and vice versa. An actuating lever is located on one of the frame sections. The invention aims to permit devices which are separately mounted on both frame sections to be actuated in the same direction, without restricting or even preventing the folding action of the wheelchair. This is achieved by a transmission lever (3, 4), provided on each of the two frame sections (1, 2) which is connected to a respective shaft (5, 6) in a rotatably fixed manner. Said shafts and levers can be pivoted about the same axis (7) which runs transversely to the direction of travel. The actuating lever (8) is also connected in a rotatably fixed manner to one of the two shafts (5, 6) and the shafts (5, 6) are coupled together in a rotatably fixed manner in such a way that both transmission levers (3, 4) can be pivoted in the same direction, using the actuating lever in the operating position, folding position and in each intermediate position. According to one embodiment, the coupling takes place using two levers (9, 10) which are connected at one of their ends to the shafts (5, 6) and at the other end to each other, in a manner allowing them to articulate about axes (11) that run parallel to each other and perpendicular to the longitudinal extension of the shafts (5, 6). |
