Fire-resistant covering for earth embankments reinforced by geotextile layers comprises concrete blocks with anchors in reinforced earth

The fire-resistant covering consists of standard or lightweight prefabricated concrete blocks (1) erected with temporary wedges (2) between them over the front surface of an earth embankment reinforced by geotextile layers (4). The blocks are fastened to the earth embankment by anchors (3) in the form of narrow geotextile strips, metal mesh or nonmetal cables or chains having metal ends embedded in the concrete during manufacture of the blocks. The anchors can be fixed to metal fastenings (6) embedded in the blocks by insulating sleeves to reduce heat transmission.
