PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous polymer and its aqueous dispersion which is formed to a coated film having excellent adhesion to a base material and excellent durability without using a solvent having a high boiling point such as N-methylpyrrolidone. SOLUTION: The polymer contains a structural unit of formula (2), which can be prepared by reacting an alkyl glyceric acid (A) expressed by formula (1).
