PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a route search system and a route search method capable of reducing a load for route search processing when providing a guide route of a short travel time. SOLUTION: This system/method calculates an arrival prediction time Tg based on a tentative route, and searches a route between a connection node Lg and a destination, based on traffic information prediction data in a destination peripheral region Rg at the arrival prediction time Tg. A route is searched as to the route between the present position S and a connection node Ls, based on the traffic information data in a start point peripheral region Rs. A required time for a connection route between the searched routes and a route between a connection node Hs and a connection node Hg is calculated to determine the connection route of the shortest required time as the guide route.
