PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a liquid from remaining in a used liquid container. SOLUTION: This liquid jet device comprises liquid jet heads 16, 17 for ejecting a liquid supplied from the liquid containers 1, 2 from nozzle openings by making liquid droplets, liquid suction means 19, 20, 22a, 22b for sucking the liquid from the nozzle openings of the liquid jet head, a suction control means 54 for controlling the liquid suction means, and a liquid end detection means 58 for detecting that the residual amount of the liquid in each of the liquid containers 1, 2 reaches a predetermined liquid end value. The suction control means 54 sucks to discharge the residual liquids in the liquid containers 1, 2 by driving the liquid suction means 19, 20, 22a, 22b when the liquid end detection means 58 detects that the residual amount reaches the predetermined liquid end value.
