PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet type image forming apparatus which can wipe a face surface with a wiper blade adhered with no ink and can remove ink from the wiper blade in a simple structure. SOLUTION: The ink 60a adhered on the wiper blade 60 is absorbed by lowering a recording head 22K to bring the wiper blade 60 into contact with an ink absorber 23 as shown in fig. (a) and is removed from the wiper blade 60. The ink may remain on the wiper blade 60 in a thickened state. In order to remove the ink in such a state from the wiper blade 60, the recording head 22K is raised as shown in fig. (c) while keeping the wiper blade 60 in relatively tight contact with the ink absorber 23 as shown in fig. (b). Thereby, the residual ink (retaining) on the wiper blade 60 in the thickened state is wiped off with the ink absorber 23. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
