<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display panel using a backlight, the liquid crystal display panel capable of reducing a light leakage current of a TFT caused by reflected light from a black matrix or a color filter on a counter substrate, suppressing flicker and giving a preferable contrast. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display panel 10A includes an array substrate AR having a pixel electrode 16 and a thin film transistor TFT in each pixel region enclosed by scanning lines and signal lines arranged in a matrix, and a color filter substrate CF having a black matrix BM and a color filter 26, wherein a light absorbing layer 30 is formed over the surface of the thin film transistor TFT with an insulating film 20 interposed therebetween. The light absorbing layer 30 may comprise a color filter layer 30<SB>R</SB>, 30<SB>G</SB>, 30<SB>B</SB>in a different color from the color of the color filter to which the pixel electrode of each pixel region opposes, or may comprise an amorphous silicon layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
