PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide anε-type copper-phthalocyanine pigment exhibiting high contrast and high brightness when used for a color filter, to provide a method for producing the pigment, and to provide a coloring composition capable of forming the color filter having the high contrast and the high brightness. SOLUTION: Theε-type copper-phthalocyanine pigment has 0.64-0.82°half value width of the peak at 9.1±0.2°of Bragg angle 2θin an X-ray diffraction diagram (CuKαray). The method for producing theε-type copper-phthalocyanine pigment includes kneading a mixture to be kneaded, comprising anε-type copper-phthalocyanine having≤0.62°half value width of the peak at 9.1±0.2°of Bragg angle 2θin an X-ray diffraction diagram (CuKαray), a water-soluble inorganic salt and a water-soluble organic solvent by a continuous kneader having a crushing space formed by a ring-shaped fixed disk concentric to a cylindrical casing and installed therein, and a rotary disk rotated by a driven shaft.
