PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce iron loss in a rotary electric machine performing variable field control. SOLUTION: In an inner rotor generator 1, a magnet 8 and a control magnetic pole 14 are provided on the rotor 3, the stator 7 is supported by an annular member 6 integral with a fixed bobbin 5, an armature coil 9 is wound around the stator, and a field control coil 12 is wound around a coil holding portion 11 provided in a bobbin. The bobbin and the annular member are formed of dust core material. Since electrical resistance increases as compared with a bobbin made of iron material, generation of eddy current is retarded and since reduction of iron loss can be promoted, generation efficiency can be enhanced when it is applied to a generator.
