<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a liquid crystal composition obtained by mixing two or more liquid crystal compounds, in which the liquid crystal composition produced is high in reliability, and which can produce efficiently. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing the liquid crystal composition obtained by mixing the two or more liquid crystal compounds comprises stirring the two or more liquid crystal compounds, at least one of which has a melting point higher than 40°C, at a start-of-stirring temperature of not higher than 40°C without applying heat from the outside thereto. The method can produce a reliable and high quality liquid crystal composition dispensing with large equipment such as a pressure reducing device and a heating device.
