<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a remote diagnosis of a failure cause when a power circuit or a communication circuit of a household electrical appliance fails or the like to become out of communication. <P>SOLUTION: The remote failure diagnostic method is for a system composed of household electrical appliances 1-4 connected to a domestic network; recording media 1b-4d provided corresponding to the respective appliances; and a center 8 connected in communication with the respective household electrical appliances. Each household electrical appliance carries out a self-diagnosis at the request of a user or the like, records self-diagnosis information in each recording medium, and transfers the self-diagnosis information to the other household electrical appliances to record it. When a failure occurs in one household electrical appliance, self-diagnosis information is transmitted to the center from the household electrical appliance in which the failure occurred; or when the self-diagnosis information cannot be transmitted due to the failure, the self-diagnosis information of the troubled household electrical appliance is transmitted to the center from the other household electrical appliance instead of the troubled household electrical appliance. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
