PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article of footwear with a thong which is easily attached to the article of footwear.SOLUTION: The article of footwear with a thong includes: a pedestal 10 and belt-like thongs 21, 22 that are tied to the pedestal through circular holes 14, 15. The thong is composed of a sheet like belt piece punched out from a single sheet, with the belt piece folded and superimposed in the longitudinal center, and with a prescribed length from the folded end is sewn inside. The portion from the sewn part to the folded end is made a front thong 21, with the portion from the sewn part to both ends of the belt piece made both side thongs 22, 22, and with a ring-like part comprising the folding formed at the tip ends of the side thongs. From the front side of the pedestal 10 to the inside of the tip end ring-like part of the thong, the tip end of a rod-like tying tool 30 is applied. In this state, the tip end of the tying tool is inserted through the circular hole, with the ring-like part interposed. Then, the ring-like part is made to reach the reverse side of the pedestal and, in the ring-like part that reached the reverse side, a stopper 40 is fixed.
