Sensor devices and related methods disclosed. One example sensor device includes a substrate comprising a plurality of bobbins, the plurality of bobbins define an aperture structured to receive a conductor therein, a coil comprising a plurality of coil turns wound about each of the plurality of bobbins, a first shield extending between each of the plurality of bobbins and the plurality of coil turns; and a second shield positioned proximate to the plurality of coil turns, opposite the first shield such that the plurality of coil turns is between the first shield and the second shield.

1. A sensor device for use in detecting current in a conductor, said sensor comprising:
a plurality of bobbins hingedly connected to each other for pivotal movement therebetween, each bobbin being fabricated of a dielectric material and including a substrate of a non-magnetic material; a first shield formed on each of said bobbins, said first shield being formed by multiple turns of a magnet wire coiled over an outer surface of each bobbin by which a plurality of turns of the wire are formed on a first of said bobbins and then successively on each of the other bobbins to and including the last of said bobbins, and then back along the bobbins from the last of said bobbins successively back to and including the first of said bobbins; a coil, a portion of which is formed on each bobbin and overlays said first shield, the coil being formed by multiple turns of a magnet wire coiled on each bobbin by which a plurality of turns of the wire are formed on a first of said bobbins and then successively on each of the other bobbins to and including the last of said bobbins, and then back along the bobbins from the last of said bobbins successively back to and including the first of said bobbins; a second shield formed on each of said bobbins and overlaying the portions of said coil and said first shield formed thereon, said second shield being formed by a plurality of turns of a segment of the same magnet wire from which the first shield is formed, said segment of said same magnet wire being coiled on each bobbin by which a plurality of turns of the wire are formed on a first of said bobbins and then successively on each of the other bobbins to and including the last of said bobbins, and then back along the bobbins from the last of said bobbins successively back to and including the first of said bobbins; and, a plurality of lead wires extending from the sensor device, two of said lead wires extending from respective ends of the magnet wire forming the coil, and a third lead wire extending from one of said first and second shields.
