PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of individualized carbon nanotubes in the solid state by completely exfoliating a bundle of carbon nanotubes without significant chemical and physical property modifications taking place to the carbon nanotubes, and to provide the carbon nanotubes obtained by the method.SOLUTION: A production method of exfoliated carbon nanotubes conducted by suspending and exfoliating carbon nanotubes in a solution containing a nanocrystalline material, precipitating and isolating the exfoliated carbon nanotubes, in which nanocrystalline materials may include nanorods, hydroxyapatite and various hydroxyapatite derivatives; also the production method of exfoliated carbon nanotubes conducted by preparing a solution of carbon nanotubes in an acid and filtering the solution; and a composition which includes unbundled and individualized carbon nanotubes having diameters of 10-100 nm and lengths of 500 nm to 500 μm obtained by the methods.SELECTED DRAWING: None
