A three-dimensional printing method and system, which relate to the field of three-dimensional printing. The method comprises the steps of: reading model data, determining the shape of a model, and presetting the model according to a default printing direction; determining whether the model exceeds a printing volume and/or the model needs support in the current printing direction; if the model exceeds the printing volume, traversing a rotation angle to screen a printing direction having a smallest boundary distance as an actual printing direction; if the model needs support, screening a printing direction having a smallest support volume and a large bottom area by using a support system generation algorithm, and using the printing direction as an actual printing direction; if the above two cases do not exist, using the default printing direction as an actual printing direction; and reconfiguring the model data according to the actual printing direction, and controlling a spray nozzle to carry out three-dimensional printing according to the actual printing direction. By means of the present invention, a three-dimensional digital model can be preprocessed and printing can be carried out by preferably selecting a most appropriate and reasonable printing direction, the printing result can be optimized, and the printing success rate can be improved. |
