PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal alignment processing agent that prevents a change in pretilt angle during a long period of high temperature and light irradiation, and can provide a liquid crystal alignment film having a high wetting and spreading property over a substrate, uniform coating film performance, and excellent coating film performance at the ends.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal alignment processing agent contains at least one polymer selected from the group consisting of N-ethyl-2-pyrrolidone, and a polyimide precursor and a polyimide having a side chain of the following formula (1).
