PURPOSE:To make it possible to display an alarm indicating that setting of appropriate exposure is impossible, by detecting that the integrated value of measured value of reflecting light from an object passing through a photographing lens does not reach a prescribed value and displaying the detection. CONSTITUTION:A photometric circuit (b) makes photometric measurement on the reflecting light of an object passing through the photographing lens of a camera and another photometric circuit (a) directly measures the photometric value of the electronic flash light of a flashing discharge tube 11. The integrating operation of the circuit (a) is started together with the pre-light emission of the discharge tube 11 and the integrated value of the circuit (a) when the integrated value of the circuit (b) reaches a prescribed value is stored and held. An LCD display section 200 which detects that the integrated value of the circuit (b) does not reach the prescribed value and displays the detection when the main light emission of the discharge tube 11 is controlled in accordance with the stored value, is provided. Therefore, an alarm can be displayed when it becomes clear that appropriate exposure cannot be obtained even if the main light emission is performed as the result of the pre-light emission of the discharge tube 11.
