A gasket is fitted to a joint between two surfaces 12, 13 by placing two gasket portions 16, 17 in position between the surfaces 12, 13 and applying a settable material between the two gasket portions 16, 17. The settable material is provided in the form of two separate components each having the consistency of putty. The two components are thoroughly mixed together and then rolled out like a sausage of the desired length and thickness. The sausage is then fitted between the two components. This method enables the settable material to be applied very quickly and uniformly, with little or no skill. <IMAGE> |
