A colour enhancing agent comprising water, urea and a quaternary ammonium compound of the Formula (1): <CHEM> wherein: R<1>, R<2> and R<3> are each independently selected from H and C<5> PI <6><4>- optionally substituted alkyl or alkylene; R4 is C<5> PI <6><4>-optionally substituted alkyl or alkylene; and X DIVIDED is an anion, provided that the total number of carbon atoms in the compound of Formula (1) is more than 30. The colour enhancing agent can be used in pre-treatment compositions for textile materials prior to ink jet printing with a reactive dye and improves colour yields. |
