<p>An image synthesizer which can output a high quality texture-mapped image on a real time basis without hindering the high-speed operation and downsizing of hardware. A three-dimensional image is formed by a game space setting portion (13) and an image supply portion (10), and predetermined three-dimensional arithmetic processing is executed. Coordinates of each dot inside a polygon and texture coordinates corresponding to the former are determined by a processor portion (30). The texture coordinates are stored at an address of a field buffer portion (40) designated by the coordinates of each dot. Predetermined rendering data is stored in a texture data memory portion (42). The texture coordinates are read out from the field buffer portion (40), while the rendering data is read out from the texture data memory portion (42), so that a pseudo-three-dimensional image is synthesized and outputted. When the texture coordinates are stored in the field buffer portion (40) in this way, thinning-out/interpolation operation, etc., can be executed.</p> |
