PURPOSE:To provide a method and a device for working a lead frame, by which a minute lead frame can be worked at a high speed and easily, and also, the dimension accuracy and the quality after working can be improved, and moreover, the mass production can be realized at a low cost. CONSTITUTION:At the time of working a metallic plate 101 by irradiating it with a laser beam, the laser beam having a circular cross section generated pulsatively is converted to the laser beam having a slender elliptical shape cross section by a beam cross section converter 20, it is rotated so that the longitudinal direction of the laser beam coincides with the direction for going to the outside from the center by a beam rotating device 30, and this laser beam is moved by an XY table 60 along a locus of many quadrangles in which an intersection of a diagonal line is shared and each side is parallel. Subsequently, by moving the laser beam successively from the center of the metallic plate 101 to the outside, many inner leads extending radially and linearly are formed. |
