PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject medicine comprising a complex component prepared by extracting the fruit body of Hericium erinaceum with water and the extraction residue with a polar organic solvent as an active ingredient excellent in nerve growth factor inducing effect, which is separable by a simple operation. SOLUTION: This NFG producing inducer comprises a complex component obtained by extracting the fruit body of Hericium erinaceum with water, removing the extracted solution and extracting the extraction residue with a polar organic solvent (preferably methyl alcohol, ethyl alcohol and/or acetone) as an active ingredient. The extraction residue, for example, is obtained by extracting the ground material of the fruit body of Hericium erinaceum with water of twice to three times as much as the ground material preferably at a room temperature for 10 to 50 hours while slowly stirring, filtering or centrifuging to remove the extracted solution and repeating the similar operations twice to three times. The extraction with the polar organic solvent, for example, is carried out by extracting the extraction residue with the polar organic solvent of three to fives times as much as the residue preferably at a room temperature for 10 to 50 hours while mildly stirring. |
