PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the heating time in heating and regenerating a catalyst, to increase the exhaust volume and to sufficiently deodorize a garbage treating device by heating an oxidation catalyst to an activation temp. by a heater before an adsorptive oxidation catalyst is heated and regenerated, stopping a fan, heating and regenerating the adsorptive catalyst with a heater. SOLUTION: An oxidation catalyst 56 and an adsorptive oxidation catalysts 58a and 58b are kept at ordinary temp. in normal operation. The malodorous gas sucked by a fan 52 from the fermenter of a garbage treating device passes through the oxidation catalyst 56 without the malodorous component being asorbed and flows downward in a gas passage 55, the malodorous gas and catalysts 58a and 58b arranged in series on the downstream side, and the gas is discharged from an exhaust port 54 as almost odorless air. Before the adsorptive catalysts 58a and 58b are heated and regenerated, the oxidation catalyst 56 is heated to an activation temp. by a first heater 57, the fan 52 is stopped, and then the adsorptive oxidation catalysts 58a and 58b are heated by a second heater 59 and regenerated. |
