PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain address registration to an address solution device even when a subscriber does not know a physical address of the address solution device in the ATM communication system in which the address solution device manages addresses of each subscriber terminal and connects to the subscriber terminals via an ATM switch. SOLUTION: The system is provided with a connectionless server 4 managing addresses of each subscriber terminal 1 and routing a message for connectionless communication. When a new subscriber is in existence, the connectionless server 4 inserts a physical address of the new subscriber terminal 1 registered in its own station to a connectionless message and informs the resulting message to an address solution device 3. Then the address solution device 3 requests return of a logic address to the new subscriber terminal 1 by using the physical address of the new subscriber terminal 1 as a destination address so as to solve the address backward and registers the logic address of the new subscriber terminal 1.
