PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject compound by removing acidic impurities which is difficult to be purified by a distillation, by using an ion exchange resin up to a degree of not causing a problem in using the same compound as the raw material of an adhesive. SOLUTION: This method for producing a purified 2-cyanoacrylate is to remove acidic impurities in 2-cyanoacrylate (e.g. ethylene dicyanoacrylate) having a high molecular weight, multiple functionalities, or a functional group, which is impossible to be distilled, and distillable 2-cyanoacrylate (e.g. methyl-2- cyanoacrylate) with an ion exchange resin having preferably iminodicarboxylic acid group, especially preferably an imino diacetic acid group of the formula: CH2 N(CH2 COOH)2 to obtain the objective compound. As the skeleton of the ion exchange resin, a polyfluoroethylene, etc. are cited, but those having a general polystyrene skeleton may be used without problem. Further, the 2- cyanoacrylate is used by dissolving in a solvent as necessary and brought into contact with a resin. |
