<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the deflection of the face of a cavity-back-type head when it hit a ball and to improve the appearance of the head. SOLUTION: A lid 17 closing an opening in the rear face of a cavity 18 is secured to a head main body 16 having the cavity 18 at its rear. The securing of the lid 17 to the head main body 16 is achieved by junction using press working, with the lid 17 pressed into the counterbored part 21 of the head main body 16 and dovetailed thereto. The cavity 18 is formed by machining, and even if a cutting mark remains, it is kept out of view.</p> |
