PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the swinging mechanism for a crank, and improve the assembling property for a looper mechanism for a sewing machine, comprising a looper shaft which can rotate and slide in the axial direction, and swings while interlinking with a main spindle, the crank which is axially supported to a fixed shaft being orthogonal to the looper shaft, and swings around the fixed shaft while interlinking with the main spindle, a crank pin which is supported positionally adjustably in the direction being orthogonal to the fixed shaft, to the crank, and a crank pin guide which is fixed to the shaft end of the crank and pinches the crank pin together with the shaft end of the looper shaft, and for which the needle avoiding momentum of a looper can be regulated by a position regulation of the crank pin. SOLUTION: A fork part 15a of a crank 15 which is axially supported by a fixed shaft 2, is inserted in a square piece which is fitted on an eccentric cam being fixed to a main spindle 16, and by the main spindle 16, the crank 15 is directly swung, and thus, number of parts are reduced, and also, the assembly is facilitated by making the insertion of the fork part 15a into the square piece 17 possible from an optional direction.
