The mower bar has mowing fingers (1) with lower part (4) with support (6) for a blade (7). A holding down member (14) has a rear fixing section (16) and front support section (15) with support face (20) and holders (17, 18, 19) for keyed connection on the upper part (5) of the mowing finger in both directions of movement of the cutter (3). The fixing section serves to fix the holding down member together with the lower part and upper part of the finger on the cutter bar (2) and the support section (15) mounted in the blade gap (8) serves to support the cutter flat against moving away from the support. The support section of the holding down member supports the cutter with pretension.
