Treatment of aqueous effluents containing at least one ether (I) involves (a) growing Gordona terrae CIP I-1889 and/or Rhodococcus equi CIP I-2053 under aerobic conditions in the presence of a substrate (II) allowing growth; and (b) degrading (I) in the effluent in presence of (II) using the biomass produced by these bacteria.
