PURPOSE: An opening and closing control device for a sliding window is provided to lock a window with complete closure of the window in the room and to open and close a window within a limited range. CONSTITUTION: In an open state of a window, the lower end of a hanging unit(32) of a subsidiary lever(31) is pressurized by a hanging sill(14) of a body(11) right before the complete closure of the window. A coil spring(35) is compressed while the subsidiary lever rotates around a hinge pin(36). With complete closure of the window, the hanging unit is released from the hanging sill. The subsidiary lever returns to its original position by the rebounding force of the coil spring. Thereby, the window is locked.
