PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for dredging are provided to enable manual working in a culvert for long time, to simplify complex working processes, to reduce a cost and to completely remove sludge of nonuniform particles. CONSTITUTION: A dredging apparatus(100) is set up by assembling components. By rotating an extrusion member embedded in the dredging apparatus, sludge(22) is discharged. Herein, the sludge of nonuniform particles is effectively removed out of a culvert via a discharge path by using the rotational pressure of the extrusion member. If the discharge of the sludge is not easy, high pressure water is sprayed employing a high pressure water discharge apparatus(29b) installed in the discharge path. Thereby, the sludge is discharged completely.
