PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a printing efficiency for mono-color pages, multi-color pages or partial color pages by separating a page representation to printing queues respectively corresponding to mono-color and multi-color printing engines, and printing with priority pages to be multi-color printed over pages to be mono-color printed. SOLUTION: Upon application of a printing command, first, whether or not a page is present at a head of a color queue (standby queue) is judged. When it is judged NO, whether or not a page is present in a mono-color queue is judged. When a page is present in the mono-color queue although it is not present at the head of the color queue, a next page to be printed is a page on a head of the mono-color queue and therefore, the next page is set to be identical to a page from the head of the mono-color queue. On the other hand, when the page is found on the head of the color queue at an initial inspection, a state of the page is determined and printing the page is executed with priority.
