PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily perform the tilting angle changing motion for the backrest section. SOLUTION: This reclining adjusting mechanism is equipped with a lock pin supporting plate 30 which supports lock pins 31 and 31a, and a lock hole forming plate 10 having lock holes 11, 12 and 13. At a first backward tilting angle, when the lock pin 31 is pulled out from the first lock hole 11 and moved to a retracting position, a wall which regulates a circular hole 32 on the lock pin supporting plate 30 gets across an engaging claw 19 which is attached to the cylindrical shaft 15 of the lock hole forming plate 10, and the position is fixed and held by the engaging claw 19. When a tilting motion of the backrest section is performed from that state, the engaging claw 19 is superposed with a first groove 33 on the way, and the lock pin supporting plate 30 advances.
