PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic imaging apparatus capable of storing a moving image file without losing it in the way of photography in a reproducible state even if a battery runs down or is replaced during moving image photography. SOLUTION: The electronic imaging apparatus capable of photographing a moving image comprises an operating section 9 for starting or ending moving image photography, a CCD 17 as an image pick-up means, a CPU 10 performing control for dividing a photographed moving image and recording it in a recording medium 16 as a plurality of independent moving images, respectively, and a CPU 10 for synthesizing the moving image files recorded while being divided into one moving image file. When moving image photography is started, a photographed moving image is recorded while being divided by the CPU 10 and when moving image photography is ended, a plurality of moving image files recorded while being divided are recorded by synthesizing into one moving image file.
