<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it easy to control a recording medium of backup leading in a printer enabling a backup of image data recorded in a memory card and the like. <P>SOLUTION: The printer 100 performs the backup of image data from the memory card 300 to an external storage 200 if the memory card 300 in which image data has been stored is inserted into a memory card slot 150 while media 400 capable of performing a writing in the external storage 200.
