<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reformer for a fuel cell capable of uniformly heating a reforming catalyst to a desired temperature and of executing efficient reforming. <P>SOLUTION: This reformer for a fuel cell is composed by employing a structure where, when a fuel gas is jetted from burners 30 toward the inside of a reforming passage member 10, the flow of a combustion gas in a heating passage 10c of the reforming passage member 10 is formed into a whirling flow by tilting the jetting directions of the burners 30 with respect to the longitudinal direction of the reforming passage member 10. Thereby, the combustion gas heats a reforming catalyst layer 50 while whirling along the circumferential direction of the reforming catalyst layer 50, whereby the temperature distribution in the circumferential direction of the reforming catalyst layer 50 is equalized. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
