PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recorder which can protect a linear magnetic body. SOLUTION: The recorder is equipped with a carriage 121 which moves back and forth with a recording head loaded thereon, a magnetic sensor 151 and the linear magnetic body 152 which detect a moving position of the carriage, and a carriage guide 128 which carries thereon and guides one end side of the carriage. The carriage guide is comprised of the magnetic body having the linear magnetic body set on the surface of the opposite side to a carriage loading surface.
