A method for providing an image source list and a video apparatus employing the same are provided to allow the user to select an image source quickly and conveniently although an image source list is arranged with many image sources long. When an external input list display command is inputted from a user(S210), a controller selects external input information to be arranged on an external input list(S220). The controller selects the display order of the external input information to be arranged on the external input list(S230). The controller makes an external input list by arranging the selected external input information in the display order(S240). The controller controls a display information combination unit to provide the created external input list on a screen(S250). When arrangement information and/or an arrangement reference are/is changed by the user(S260), the controller re-creates the external input list(S270).
