A method and a system for controlling the person-classified setup, the protector control, and the power-saving of a TV having a digital video camera are provided to improve the performance of the TV by the help of a vivid image received from the digital video camera. A TV control system includes an A/V device and a controller module(108). The A/V device includes a TV display(102) and a digital video camera(110). The controller module(108) detects an event on the basis of an image signal from the digital video camera(110) and controls a TV. The controller module(108) controls the A/V device on the basis of the instruction of a user through remote control.
