PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a color image of satisfactory reproducibility and high image quality by superposing toner images in a plurality of colors highly accurately when forming a color image with a tandem system. SOLUTION: The photoreceptor belts 6i, 7i, 8i, and 9i of a plurality of image forming stations 6, 7, 8, and 9 for forming toner images in their respective colors are disposed so that the total lengths L of the distances between the centers of support rollers 6j, 7j, 8j, and 9j supporting a transfer area may be shorter than the total lengths N of the distances between the centers of first support rollers 6a, 7a, 8a, and 9a supporting the writing areas. Thereby, the intermediate transfer belt 10 is shortened to reduce the effect of a change in the intermediate transfer belt 10 on accuracy in toner image superposition. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
