PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the duplex of the alarm function of a system by an inexpensive and miniaturized structure, and to attract the attention of a user or a healthcare professional when trouble occurs in an alarm output circuit etc. SOLUTION: A controller 2 for controlling a blood pump outputs the alarm in the audible sound from a speaker 22 when an abnormality requiring generation of the alarm occurs. When the blood pump is normally operated, ultrasonic signals are always or periodically output from the speaker 22. The ultrasonic signals output from the speaker 22 of the controller 2 are received by a detector 30 close to the outside of the controller 2. If ultrasonic signals can not be transmitted because of the trouble in the alarm output circuit 20, or if ultrasonic signals are abnormal, the detector 30 determines that the alarm output circuit 20 has trouble, and transmits signals by radio to an outside monitor 40, so that the alarm is output from the outside monitor 40.
