A coating method and coater are provided to prevent the formation of a wedge film and to coat the object plate with paint uniformly due to wettability. A coating method comprises a step of maintaining the flat target plate surface of an object(2) horizontally; a step of maintaining the flat target plate surface of a coating plate(11) to face the flat target plate surface of an object at constant intervals in parallel; a step of forming successive beads between the object plate surface and the coating surface by surface tension of paints; and a step of relatively moving the object in the direction parallel to the object plate surface and the coating surface and adhering paints to the object plate surface due to wettability to paints. |
