COMPOSITE PISTON USING SHRINK- FIT

A piston using shrink-fit is provided to prevent the skirt portion and the crown portion from expanding at the same time and separating from each other when applied with heat. A piston(10) comprises a skirt portion(20) in which a pair of dovetails(21) are formed on the upper surface edge to face each other, and a crown portion(30) in which a dovetail groove(31) corresponding to the dovetails is formed in the lower surface. As the dovetail groove is fitted to the dovetails, the crown portion and the skirt portion are connected to each other. In order to fit the dovetail groove to the dovetails forcibly, the skirt portion is cooled so that the dovetails are temporarily contracted.
